This week, Elsie and Delia started preschool! Tuesday was “slow start” day, so Lonnie and I stayed (and were therefore able to take pictures), despite the girls both saying they wanted us to “go away!”. They are still surprised they are actually getting to do this and keep saying “MY school?” (as opposed to Emma’s school, which is what they always called it last year). They are soooooooo ready and had a blast.
Elsie, looking smashing in red with pink cowboy boots. How old are you? Three years old.
Delia, wearing her favorite color purple, and her “docky boots”. ”I am in preschoooooooooooooool.”
Hugs for twin sisters on the first day of preschool. Hooray! They have been waiting AGES for this!
Once we were at school, Lonnie and I split for circle times in the two classrooms (yep, they are in separate classrooms, though they are able to meet up in the common studio space and on the playground). I bounced between the two for awhile, hence the photographs! They both had lots of fun.
Back to the studio, Delia has ventured further into the paint. Soon, Elsie joins Daddy and Delia in the studio to cut and glue. They are so at home here, having done a “Messy Play Day” class off and on here for the last two years. I’m so glad they can be together and separate in this school! Works great.
At the end all the classrooms headed out to the playground. Elsie worked on climbing the bars and Delia settled down to examine some plastic flowers. Can I get these back together somehow?
Today was their first day of drop-off preschool, and they both did great. Families often stay for circle time, but Elsie was fine with me setting her up next to her teacher and then leaving to go to Delia’s circle time. I’ll alternate back and forth. After I left, I went home to an EMPTY house, which has happened exactly ONCE in the past three years. Wow, was it quiet! I can get used to this!!! When I picked them up, they were both on the double tricycle (a tricycle built for twins!) with a third girl pushing them, as it’s impossibly heavy. So great! Hooray for school!

Yay for preschool!!! I love the parts about the school (seems like an AWESOME preschool!)–but I most love the part about you having the house to yourself for a few hours a week. I feel you gaining some energy and sense of self that little ones tend to absorb while they’re under our wings 24/7. What a great new chapter you are all in
They look so proud, and their preschool looks amazing! Congratulations on a huge milestone. It sounds like everyone is handling the transition with grace (and excitement!).
What a COOL school! And the photos are sooo cute. The girls look like they’re having a blast at school. So happy for all of you!
It looks like they had fun! This preschool looks pretty cool too! I love the pegboard activity. I want to make one for baby T!
