In no particular order…
Take time to read a real book or magazine each day. Something that is not online. Ideally something that is not parenting-related, though I will not quite commit to that, since 80% of the books on my to-read list are those types of things. I do enjoy reading them, though!
Listen to my body for at least a few minutes each day, stretching, breathing, feeling out what type of activity I need to feel good. I am hoping to also try out the local Y, which would be SWEET if it all works out. For the first time ever I feel comfortable leaving my kids in that kind of childcare situation (which I have heard great things about, at this particular location) — though I haven’t tried it yet, Elsie and Delia are so much more relaxed about separating from me I think they will actually enjoy it, and if it is a day when Emma is not in school, I’m guessing with E & D there she will have fun too. I haven’t done any sort of regular exercise for more than 4 years, so it is really, really time.
Get back to more organization of our days and weeks, especially with regards to daily planning and to-do lists and such. I’ve slipped up on this a lot (not that I’ve ever been that great at it!) and things haven’t been going that smoothly here because of it. Today I got up a bit before the girls and our morning and whole day went a lot better. I can’t commit to doing that every day (!!!) but even twice a week or so would be a good start, I am thinking…
Tackle our finances. I’ve gotten lazy about this too — I used to be good about using Quicken or Mint.com to keep track of things but have totally slipped up, due to having most bills paid automatically. We really need a budget overhaul, a discussion and game plan about our current goals, and a meeting with a financial planner.
Schedule one "tech free" day per week. I am both scared and excited to do this. I think for me this will be a rotating day each week (I’ll pick it ahead of time based on my schedule, but it won’t be the same day each week) and will not allow myself to do anything online other than basic email checks (maybe twice a day) or info lookups (yellow page type stuff). So, no blogging (writing or reading) or web browsing, photo editing, Facebook, word games or writing emails other than the briefest of replies (ideally none at all) I could go a step further and not touch the computer at all, but since email is really my main means of communication (um, where’s my phone again?) I don’t feel like eliminating it completely would make sense for me.
What are your intentions or resolutions this year? Any tips on sticking to them? My first step is to print out this list and post it somewhere….

Regular exercise? Yes, I would like that too. I always wondered what would happen if I couldn’t do it and now I can see : ) I’ve considered that Y also.
Love your pics!
I love that you called them New Year’s intentions! My yoga teacher in Las Vegas told us that setting intentions made it less intimidating to set goals in the new year. You can’t “break” an intention, but you can strengthen it if you’ve slipped up. Speaking of yoga… I need to find a teacher here in my new hometown. That’s intention #1 for me!
