This. I really want to do this:
This photo is by flikr user chotda, and is an update of her original rainbow bookshelf photo.
So cool. I had seen this before but found it again via this neat article on creative bookshelving. My father the avid book collector would HATE it, because how the heck do you find a book without ORDER based on subject and alphabetization??? We’ll see, it may prove to be a problem, but I don’t think so. Our collection is not that big, and I am a visual/color person. I remember color. I think I will be able to find everything, and honestly, most books don’t get taken down a whole lot anyway. It will be a fun project, in any case! And a good way to procrastinate things like holiday shopping, crafting, card-making, and the like (which are also fun, once I dive in, but I have yet to, ha ha).
I am also working on my post for the December Carnival of Natural Parenting. This months topic: "Lets Talk Traditions". I am excited to read everyone’s posts on this! Hopefully I will get mine done, I am such a procrastinator on this front, too! Geesh!

I think this is a really cool idea. I need a bigger bookshelf though because right now they’re all just piled one on top of the other and stacked two deep. A new bookshelf is on the purchasing horizon for next year so I’ll try to remember for next year. If you finish your own bookshelf put a picture up!
That is beautiful, so beautiful! Alas, our hardcover books are not nearly so rainbow-ish!
WOW! Just looking at that picture makes my heart happy. That is awesome.
