Hello, Four and a Half!

Today was Emma’s half-birthday.  Something we have not celebrated in the past, but birthdays and ages are a Big Deal around here lately, so we jumped on it as an excuse to have some fun.

We had a few different options for a fun outing, and when I realized what day it was (um, a little into the morning, but hey, at least I remembered!) I let Emma choose.  We headed to the Children’s museum and had a fun go of it (though I did lose Delia AGAIN for 5-6 minutes, which starts to feel like a looooooong time after they repeat it over the staff walkie talkies for the 10th time or so.  Yeeps!).

For lunch, we headed up to the Center house food court right above the museum, then home for naps & quiet time, domino playing (Emma and Mama time) and brownie making, since brownies & ice cream were Emma’s requested treat!

Emma was thrilled with being officially 4.5 (she’s planning to share it as her circle time "news" at school tomorrow), and kept trying to think of new things she could do now, that she couldn’t do yesterday.  Ha! She had some fancy moves, that big 4 and a half year old!  And now that she is 4.5, "Kindergarten will be pretty soon".  Um, let’s not freak mama out about all that though, okay?  LA LA LA!  I want to keep my preschooler "baby" for at least another year!

Note sad sad child, who does not want birthday song to be sung to big sister (we sang it, anyway)

Sugar can heal many wounds. Her turn will be next week, in any case!

Love you, Emma Rae!
