Toddler shenanigans from yesterday:
- E & D bolted upstairs together, shut themselves in the bathroom, and started using our electric toothbrushes. This happens daily now. Telltale signs: door slam, and then uproarious laugher seconds later. I caught them before the toothpaste was opened, thankfully.
- Delia, while sitting on the pot, unrolled yet another roll of TP. 2nd or 3rd in a week or two.
- Delia sprays Elsie in the face, multiple times, with a vinegar/water/dish soap/tea tree oil solution. Elsie was SOAKED, and it was in her eyes. She was amazingly calm about it, though it did hurt!
- Found both girls in our storage room room downstairs (major disaster area, and SO not childproofed). Elsie had stripped off her pants and diaper; both were playing in rolls of bubble wrap.
I am sure I am missing some things, too. They are so crazy these days! I’ve never been a fan of gates, especially because it is bothersome for Emma, so we have been rid of them for more than a year now (since I felt they were safe on the stairs, which was before a year). But. I really might need to start breaking them out again! Right now they are upstairs AGAIN, probably with the toothbrushes. They are totally and absolutely happy playing together for long periods of time — up to an hour or more! Which is great, on one hand…. its when they sneak off into these other rooms where I am not that trouble happens….

I am somewhat relieved that your seemingly placid toddlers are acting up : ) But then again, I understand how exasperating it is. I caught my daughter on top of the toilet tank tonight! I had left them in the bathroom for a short time – they endlessly wash hands, empty their potties, flush the toilet. Yes, its really something huh?
It sounds like they egg each other on. Such fun!
