Hey, when you Google "murmurings", my blog is the number two listing. Cool!
I’m also second for "apricot brown rice congee" — taking you right to Emma’s food log but not to my actual recipe (here it is, my recipe for slow cooker brown rice congee with apricots). Oh, for the days when I had time to record every morsel my child ate! I’ve thought about taking the food log down — and may sometime in the future — but for now I’m leaving it for any folks doing Baby Led Weaning that may happen in and want to check it out (BLW rocks, btw). And yes, the crock pot congee is great, though I haven’t done it in ages. And I assume its not true "congee" because its thicker than I think of congee being — more of a slow cooked brown rice cereal, I guess? Is that congee? Having never eaten authentic congee I worry that I am misleading folks…..ah well.
I also get a ton of hits for bonelos manglo, a dairy free, coconut milk based donut from the Marianas Islands. It was an awesome recipe that we’ve only tried once, and I’m not sure why, because they are DELISH. Yum, I am now inspired and am totally making them again this week.
And then there’s this one — I often get hits from folks searching for my old friend, "Eric Yann Battle". And that makes me both cry and smile, and damn I wish I could reach through computer and give you a big hug, whoever you are. I feel oddly connected to him via this odd search engine cyber link, though we were not close or in touch much in the years after I left college. If you are here for Yann, all I have is this poem. You should definitely check out this incredible remembrance video and Yann’s own webpage at Carleton (which is still up but doesn’t work completely in all browsers — see the note in my original post). There’s also a second video, but for some reason the sound isn’t working for me on that one right now. There also was a "Remember Yann" blog, but it appears to no longer be up. It was a collection of stories and memories that I hope it’s only temporarily offline…

I have not heard of bonelos manglo but any donut is probably a winner with me.
