Whoa, things have been pretty crazy here, and our big day is almost here! We signed papers for our current house earlier this week, and for the new house today. Keys tomorrow! We are hoping to get everything moved Saturday, and our movable storage pod, with the rest of our things, will be delivered Monday. Yahoo! We are so excited!
Its been a little disconcerting to not be doing much actual packing for this move. I did a lot for the Pod, which was loaded up in February, before our house went on the market, but at this point, I just can’t do anything. I have been doing the paperwork and filling out of forms and calling for the address change, etc, but when folks keep asking if we are "all packed up" I have to laugh. I do think it will get done, much of it tomorrow as Lonnie has the day off and my mom will be here as well. Lots of help coming on Saturday, too (thanks to our great friends and family!) so I am really not worried. My doctor today wanted to confirm that I would in fact be doing "armchair directing," during the move and that is definitely what I am planning at this point.
In baby news, there is not much, though we got a good peek at them today and all looked well. Every time I hear that it is such a relief. Today was just a fluid check (both had good amounts), so we didn’t get weights, but I am guessing both girls are close to 4 pounds at this point. The ultrasound tech pointed out "lots" of hair on Lefty today, which was cool. No bald babies in this family, that is for sure!
Just a few days shy of 32 weeks, today, and the doctor implied that because they are mono/di (sharing a placenta), if they do not come on their own they may induce earlier than 38 weeks, which was what I had been hearing up until now. They will be keeping an eye on the babies growth, and if their weights become more than a pound different that is a concern (and I think a reason they would induce immediately). We could definitely have babies here in 4-5 weeks, though, even if that does not happen! Holy moly!
Instead of packing, I have been working on gathering the few things we still need, and that has been fun. Another carseat, check. Second bouncer, check. A bit more clothes, blankets, miscellaneous gear, check. I am feeling a lot less concerned with having everything ready this time around since I know how easy it is to run out (or well, send someone out) and get something if we have a need, once they are here. It will just be a relief to be in the new house, and have a room in which to put the baby gear (if not the babies themselves — they will probably room with us for awhile!).
Emma is doing great through all of this, and in an odd (ironic? frustrating? but nonetheless joyous?) bit of timing has finally (FINALLY!!!!) started sleeping through the night. At 23 months old! Whee! But of course, I cannot enjoy this one glorious month or so of sleep, since I wake at least every 2 hours myself, now, ha. Oh well. It will make the transition all the less shocking, I suppose. In terms of the move, I think Emma is going to be interested, thrilled, overwhelmed, but hopefully not too stressed. She has been loving a certain book about a dog moving sent by Grandma Hutchinson, and I think the concept of moving will be much easier to relate to since she knows all about how "Boomer" has done it. She is talking up a blue streak around here and seems to really get whats going on, in terms of moving, babies, etc. Very fun.
