Less daunting than a real entry, but a step in the right direction…
New things lately:
- Had a prenatal appt last week and met our OB in person for the first time. Really liked her, but only saw her for about 4 minutes before she was paged to deliver a baby. “Someone is pushing,” she told us. No problemo. Glad to see they have priorities, and nice that the hospital is just a walk over the sky bridge.
- However, the real fun came after she left and the nurse came in to give us a shot of the doppler. Very fun to hear the heartbeat for the first time (and not even have to get naked — woohoo!). I see why people rent those things.
- Yesterday, we broke down and bought a crib. Holy cow. That was a good 3 years coming. Even with my extensive googling skills I have been unable to find a pic online, and being cameraless still, this means you will just have to imagine it. It is a Babi Italia Pinhurst dropside crib in Tea Stain. Ah, yes, can’t you just see it now…
- In other news, it appears, after more than six months of living with us, the fish has a name. Thanks to Lonnie. Marley is begging for a water change as we speak. And basking in the glow of his desk lamp sun.
- Want to make a difference in the way your house feels (and looks) from the inside? Wash the windows and take off the screens for the winter! Holy smokes, we can see out! Despite its pain-in-the-assness, I am starting to realize why people do this more than once every two years or so. I highly recommend this product, and something like these, perhaps. The squeegy does add a certain aspect of fun to the process. Wouldn’t Martha be proud of us?

Glad the appointment went well. Wish I could see the crib. I washed my windows a couple of weeks ago also. Amazing to see the difference.
