A little post-election cheer

So it is a week after the election-from-hell, and things are getting back to “normal”. Some people are still very worked up over it all, but it appears most folks seem to be resigning themselves to the situation. Here is what gives me hope, as we march forward into the darkness of winter. Of course depending on who you are, you may not agree with me ;-)

1. There was an actual winner this time.

2. Thank The Lord The Commercials Are Over and I can go back to mindlessly staring at the television instead of yelling and throwing things at it!

3. In the good U S of A, thanks to a constitution that has made it this far, there is an end in sight for this guy (2008, here we come!), which is not the case in many parts of the world.

4. There is a proliferation of humorous political jokes and photos to email our friends, like some on this website

5. There is a good chance, at the very least, that most of those aging supreme court justices will hang in there for “four…..more….years!”.

6. For the first time ever, I have actually been interested in and paid attention to politics, which leads me to believe there are others out there like me who will be actively participating the next time around.

7. After living in Washington State and Minnesota for most of my life, I can pull off the “I’m Canadian” routine pretty well when traveling abroad.

8. I am also close enough to the border to get there in a hurry if need be.

Well, thats enough for now. I am sure more will come to me soon…
